DMCA & Copyright Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Are you a creator?

If one of your videos appears in Kiku and you'd like it removed, just email us. You don't need a lawyer and you don't need to file anything formal — send us a link to the video and we'll take it down, usually within 48 hours.

1. Our Approach to Copyright

Kiku takes creators' rights seriously. The videos in Kiku are shown through YouTube's official embedded player, stay hosted on YouTube, and belong to the people who made them. We act quickly on copyright complaints.

2. Sending a Takedown Notice

If you believe something in Kiku infringes a copyright you own or represent, email us at:

[email protected]

3. What to Include

If you're sending a formal copyright notice, please include the following so we can act on it:

  • How to reach you — your name, mailing address, email address, and phone number
  • The work in question — a description of the copyrighted work, or a representative list if several works are involved
  • Where it appears — the YouTube link(s) or other details that let us find the content in Kiku
  • Accuracy statement — a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you own the copyright or are authorized to act for the owner
  • Signature — your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is fine)

If you're the creator and simply want your video out of Kiku, a link and a quick note from the email or channel associated with it is usually all we need.

4. Content Hosted on YouTube

Removing a video from Kiku stops it from appearing in our app, but the original upload still lives on YouTube. If you also want a video taken down from YouTube itself, you can file a request through YouTube's copyright process.
